Primary Cover Gasket & Seal Kit 

for 1984-1988 Harley Evo Softail & Dyna

This gasket kit includes all the gaskets, seals and O-rings shown in the photo – plus another O-ring and a couple of seals that didn’t make it into the picture.  The extra parts are to ensure this kit will work for all the engines that were produced during the early model change years.

The primary cover gasket is Silicone-Beaded on one side as shown in the photo. It will come to you perfectly flat. We never fold, roll or otherwise allow any gasket to get damaged in shipping.

If you prefer a foamet primary gasket – we also have kits with the foamet gasket at very good prices!
The big difference between the gaskets is that the foamet gasket (rubber on both sides of a steel core) is stiffer and re-usable, whereas the fibre gaskets usually don’t work very well if you try to re-use them. Please see another one of our listings or ask us about a kit with the foamet gasket.

The inspection cover gasket is also foamet, rubber on steel core. This kind of gasket is always easy to install – just put it in place, screw on the cover and it works!

The oil seals included are the ones you will need for the inner primary cover and the starter shaft.

Two large O-rings are in this kit (one not shown in photo). One is for the derby cover, and the other is for the inner primary housing (inner primary to case).

****Applicable models****

  1984-1988 Evo Softail & Dyna

  May also fit some early 1989 Evo Softail / Dyna as they did jot change the model exactly at the end of 1988. Note that the primary, inspection and derby gaskets will also fit the Shovelhead, but the seals will fit only the Evo!

  For a 1989 Evo, check the shape of the primary cover. If it does not match the gasket in the photo, you will need the 1989-up kit.

  Primary cover gasket is Silicone Beaded on one side.

  Clutch/Derby cover gasket is foamet – rubber on steel with beading on 1 side.

  Inspection cover gasket is foamet – rubber on steel.
