This is a complete engine rebuild gasket, seal and O-ring kit for the 1986 through 1990 model year 883cc Sportster engine.  For an 883 that has been converted to a standard 1200, please see our listing for a 1200cc kit so that you will have the correct head gaskets.

The Beaded Head Gaskets are graphite on a steel core with a steel Fire Ring. Each gasket is completely coated with a thin layer of silicone, and then a double layer of beading is applied to the top side.

The rocker cover gaskets are rubber.

The rocker base gaskets are one-piece SLS – embossed Single Layer Steel with a rubber coating. They give an excellent seal and do not require any sealant.

Our kits are packed very well so that you can expect them to arrive in perfect condition. 

The Photo with this listing is an actual picture of all the parts included in the kit that you will receive – except that the rocker base gaskets in the picture are actually foamet instead of SLS so the surface texture looks different, but same color and shape. Please note that on occasion the color of a gasket or O-ring may change but you can expect the same good fit and the same high quality.

  Head gaskets are graphite on a steel core with a steel fire ring, silicone beaded

  Primary cover gasket is 0.031″ unbeaded.

  Cam cover gasket is 0.031″ silicone beaded on both sides.

  The 8 rocker cover washers are fiber or better.

  Upper, lower and inner rocker cover gaskets are rubber.

  Rocker box to head gaskets are one-piece SLS (Single Layer Steel).

  Exhaust gaskets are tapered style compressed knit wire mesh, graphite-filled for strength and the best seal.

Note: If your 883cc has been converted to a standard 1200cc, then you will need our 1200cc kit to get the correct head gaskets. The standard 883 and 1200 use all the same gaskets and seals except for the head gaskets.
