This is a complete engine rebuild gasket and seal kit for the 1977 through 1981 1000cc Sportster.
The standard head gaskets are 0.020″ (0.5mm) thick copper, with 0.031″ cylinder base and rocker gaskets.
The photo shows every gasket, seal and O-ring that is included in the kit you will receive. The colors of some gaskets may vary – the primary gasket (chain cover gasket) will be black instead of gray because this listing is for a kit with a Foamet gasket – that is, rubber on both sides of a steel core (haven’t had time to take a new photo yet). The Foamet gasket is stiffer than the fibre kind, and re-usable is you need to take the cover off again. With rubber on both sides, it needs no gasket sealer to give a perfect seal every time.

****Some kit specs****
- Head gaskets are 0.020″ (0.5mm) copper.
- Primary gasket is Foamet (rubber-on-steel).
- All the large oil seals have spring-loaded rubber lips. (The very small oil pump seal is too small for a spring.)
- The 12 pushrod cover washers are cork – about 0.175″ thick (just under 3/16″, or approx. 4.5mm).
