This is a complete engine rebuild gasket, seal and O-ring kit for the 1986 through 1990 model year 1200cc Sportster engine.  For an 883 that has been converted to a standard 1200, this is the kit to use.

The Beaded Head Gaskets are graphite on a steel core with a steel Fire Ring. Each gasket is completely coated with a thin layer of silicone, and then a double layer of beading is applied to the top side.

The rocker cover gaskets are rubber.

Rocker Base Gaskets are 1-piece style,”SLS” (Single Layer Steel) which is embossed steel with a thin rubber coating. Also known as the rocker box to head gaskets, these gaskets will give a very good seal and should not need any sealant when used on good rocker and head surfaces.

New Copper Washers come with this kit. If you can still use your old washers and do not need these, save yourself a dollar or two with another of our listings for exactly the same kit except for the washers.

  Head gaskets are graphite on a steel core with a steel fire ring, silicone beaded

  Primary cover gasket is 0.031″ unbeaded.

  Cam cover gasket is 0.031″ silicone beaded on both sides.

  The 8 rocker cover washers are fibre or better.

  Set of 8 copper rocker cover washers included

  Upper, lower and inner rocker cover gaskets are rubber.

  Rocker box to head (rocker base) gaskets are one-piece SLS – Single Layer Steel embossed and rubber-coated.

  Exhaust gaskets are tapered style compressed knit wire mesh, graphite-filled for strength and the best seal.

Note: If your 883cc has been converted to a standard 1200cc, then this is the kit you will need to get the correct head gaskets. The standard 883 and 1200 use all the same gaskets and seals except for the head gaskets. When this kit is used for 1100cc engines – the head gasket bore will be slightly oversize, but the base gaskets are the same.
