This is a cam service gasket kit that includes the gaskets, seals and pushrod O-ring seals you would normally need for the 1970 through Early 1979 model year Shovelhead Big Twin engines. The pushrod cover seals are rubber.
The cam gear cover gasket – or “nose cone” gasket – in this kit is about 0.031″ (~0.08mm) thick and has a silicone bead around the entire perimeter on one side of the gasket. You should find it gives you a very good seal.
From Late 1979 the pushrod cover seals changed from the “washer” style to the O-rings or Quad seals. We offer another kit for Late 1979 through 1984. We also have a kit that has all the types of P/R cover seals for Shovelheads from 1970 through 1984.
