Engine Rebuild Gasket Kit   

for 1977 Ironhead Sportster 1000

Pkg of 1 kit  – Accel# 38449Fmr-77 (replaces 17026-79 for 1977 model year)

This is a complete engine rebuild gasket and seal kit with copper head gaskets.  All the pushrod cover washers are rubber. Both the cam cover gasket and the primary – chain cover – gasket are Foamet (rubber on both sides of a steel cover) which makes the cover easy to seal even when the mating surfaces are not perfect, and the foamet gaskets can be used again!

This kit has been modified specifically to fit the 1977 model year 1000cc Sportster. If you have a 1977 Ironhead, then this kit is perfect for you. 

If you do not have a starter, please ask us to substitute a starter blockoff gasket (i.e. a hole cover gasket) instead of the housing gasket.

Features:

  • Head gaskets 0.020″ (0.5mm) copper.
  • Cylinder base and rocker base gaskets are fibre or better.
  • All the rubber-lipped oil seals are spring-loaded, except for the very tiny one.
  • Primary gasket and cam cover gasket are Foamet – rubber on both sides of a steel core.
  • The 12 pushrod cover washers are rubber – about 0.175″ thick (that’s just under 3/16″, or about 4.5mm).

  • This kit has a Starter Housing Gasket.
    If you do not have a starter, please ask us to substitute a starter blockoff gasket (i.e. a hole cover gasket) instead of the housing gasket. The blockoff gasket is the same shape as the starter housing gasket shown, but does not have the large starter cutout hole in the middle.Our products are brand new and made to high standards to meet or exceed OEM specifications.
