This is the flat “Race Style” design of exhaust port gasket, and has the standard dimensions – approximately 1-5/8″ ID (41mm Inside Diameter) by 1-15/16″ OD (49mm Outside Diameter), not to be confused with the “interconnect” or “crossover” gasket that is much smaller.
Note: The much smaller seal in the middle of the exhaust pipe is the “crossover” or “interconnect” gasket. That one is only about 1-1/4″ (32mm) OD, depending on the type. Please see our other listings or ask for that one.

This gasket is made of a knitted stainless steel wire mesh, which is compressed to a bit thicker than 1/8″ (~3.5mm).  The gasket is flat on both sides – in other words, it is not the tapered style.

However, the construction is not our standard carbon-filled gasket. Since this gasket is not carbon-filled, it is softer and more flexible than standard, with a trade-off of being more porous.  It will compress well and better conform to rough or variable surfaces.

This gasket could be especially useful if you are having trouble getting a good seal with the standard harder gasket due to uneven surfaces on an older bike. As you torque it down, you will find that this gasket will conform to the uneven surfaces more easily and may give a better seal in some cases. It could also be doubled up, or used together with a standard flat gasket.
